Athena II Compact PC/104 Single Board Computer Now Shipping

Diamond Systems Athena II is a family of high performance Compact PC/104 form-factor single board computers (SBCs) combining state of the art CPU technology with Diamonds renowned high accuracy data acquisition circuitry, all on a single compact board with PC/104 expansion capability.

The Athena II SBC family is a technology update of the popular Athena SBC family, bringing additional performance at the same price while maintaining backward compatibility to support long customer product lifecycles.

Athena II comes equipped with the VIA Mark CPU operating fan-less at both 500MHz and 800MHz speeds over the extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It also offers 256MB of soldered-on memory, compared to 128MB on Athena. The data acquisition models now include autocalibration for improved accuracy and a larger A/D FIFO for reliable fast sampling rates.

Diamond Systems is pleased to announce that all versions of Athena II and all related products are orderable immediately and will be shipping in March, 2008, including new Athena II Development Kits. Athena II is a fully compatible, plug-in replacement for Athena, using the same cables and software. Diamond Systems Pandora PC/104 enclosure also accommodates Athena II at the 500MHz speed.
